Our Story

In 1979, Ms. Pat, our founder, opened Pat's Dance in her basement with only seventeen children. We grew from there and in 1992, we moved to our home on Church Street. Since then, there has been more growth with Ms. Mel (previous Assistant Director) as our new owner starting in 2018. New and exciting things to come! We are a Performance based studio proudly contributing to our community. Our studio is our HOME. A place where you're not judged. Where you are loved for who you are. Welcome to our dance family!

A Letter from Ms. Pat,

(In 1979), I was teaching seventeen children in my very small basement. My husband’s make-shift bar was our dance barre! Our recitals for our first few years were held at the tiny white church on Merrick Road across from Ideals supermarket in Baldwin. Each year we grew, until enrollment was so big it was time to move from the basement. We rented space on Brooklyn Avenue in Baldwin behind Wicks Florist for nine years…until that was too small!!! Then in 1992, we moved to Church Street. It has been a wonderful journey…one I never imagined I’d be taking. I’ve been asked so many times if this was a longtime dream of mine, and actually, no, it just happened. I’ve danced ever since I can remember, so I knew I wanted to keep it in my life in some way. Once my daughter was old enough to take dance lessons, I knew I was hooked again. Our Studio is Home! It is a lifeline to a lot of students. It is a place where they are not judged; where they are loved for who they are; a place where they can come even if they do not have a class; a place where someone will listen; a place to have fun, make friends, and best of all, learn to dance. Thank you for being part of my journey.

Love, Pat Randazzo, Founder
