Dear Parents:

 

This pamphlet should answer all your questions regarding costumes, pictures, videos, rehearsals, tickets and all other procedures pertaining to our annual dance recital in May.

 

Both shows have equal amount of dancers. Younger children have been given numbers, which represent their placement on stage. When purchasing tickets, we will be able to tell you exactly where to sit to get the best view of your child. Older children and those in multiple dances, change formation, therefore, their numbers can change within the dance.

                        RECITAL

Saturday Afternoon, May 15th at 1:00 p.m.

Sunday Afternoon, May 16th at 1:00 p.m. Dancers must be at Rockville Centre Middle School one hour prior to show time in full costume.

 

NO FLASHING CAMERAS DURING PERFORMANCE, it is very distracting to the dancers. NO JEWELRY.

            RECITAL TICKET POLICY

Tickets go on sale (at the Studio) on Sunday, May 2nd, 11-4 p.m. (CASH ONLY)  You must purchase your own tickets, and they are unlimited. All Studio accounts (tuition, costumes, etc) must be paid in full before  purchasing  tickets. Tickets are reserved, non-refundable and no exchanges.

                        COSTUMES  

 Costume Care

 Place your child’s name in all costumes, shoes, accessories and tights, and put in a garment bag with name on the outside.(Capezio garment bag on sale at Studio). Or you can use a clear plastic bag.

         (Example on bulletin board in Studio)

 

                Costume Distribution

Costumes will be given out Week of April 19th  during class time. All costumes, tights and accessories have been checked and rechecked by our Staff. Once the costumes leave the studio, we cannot be responsible for lost, missing pieces or any damages. Most costumes will have instruction sheets). If you have questions call the Studio and ask for Kristen or Melanie.

 

Past balances must be paid in full before costumes can be given out.

 

                Pre-Planning for Costumes

Make a checklist of your child’s classes, costumes, shoes & accessories and be sure you have everything ready before arriving at recital.

 

All Jazz and Tap shoes should be beige... Hip Hop sneakers black and Ballet & Pointe slippers pink

 

All Dancers should wear their hair up in bun. Dancers with short hair must pull their hair away from face. No headbands, colored scrungis or

beads.

                        REHEARSALS

Monday, May 10th and Friday, May 14th at Rockville Centre Middle School. Classes will be held as scheduled the week beginning May 11th (with exception of Rehearsal/ Recital dates)

    REHEARSAL SCHEDULE ENCLOSED

 

Child NOT attending rehearsal WILL NOT be permitted to perform in recital.

 PROPER DANCE WEAR ONLY!  NO FOOD OR DRINK permitted in the building.

 

       Rehearsal Drop off / Pick up/ Dismissal

Parents or Guardians should drop the student (s) to the front of the stage of the auditorium. Parents and Guardians can remain in the auditorium designated by one of the Staff members. Students will be dismissed from rehearsal once they have completed their scheduled routines. (Schedule is enclosed). Videos and pictures may be taken at Rehearsal from your seats.

 

            RECITAL PICTURES

Recital pictures will be on Saturday, May 1st.

Envelope need for every picture taken(See Marie)

             Video, DVD and Photography.

DVD’s of each recital can be purchased at the Studio, which includes Part 1 & 2, must be paid in CASH or check made out to CASH in advance. If not paid in advance, we will not order it.     See Marie for order forms.

                AUDITORIUM RULES

No eating, drinking, or smoking allowed in the building.. **All children will be released on stage after FINALE. One parent will stay in auditorium to pick up child from the stage.

    ** There will be NO early releases**

 

              Backstage Procedure

YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY!!!!

Children are to be dropped off at “Designated Area“. There will be signs when you enter the school to direct you.  There will be chaperones to take each child to his or her assigned group AND chaperones waiting for the children backstage. Only authorized personnel will be permitted backstage. Rockville Centre Middle School will not permit food or drinks in the building, so please do not send any with your child! It will be thrown out! Please be sure your child has something to eat before the show.  We will provide games, coloring books for your child’s entertainment.

DIRECTIONS TO ROCKVILLE CENTRE MIDDLE   SCHOOL

( 67 Hillside Ave)

 

From Southern State:

Southern State Parkway to exit 19 S.  continue south on Peninsula Blvd for approximately two miles turn left (east) on Lakeview Ave. Continue

 4 blocks to Burtis Ave.  Make a right at  Burtis. Travel one block to Hillside Ave. Make a right

 main entrance is on Hillside Ave

 

From Sunrise Highway:

West on Sunrise Highway to Park Ave. Head

 north on Park Avenue until you reach the intersection School entrance is on Hillside Ave.

Note that this a one-way street Highway, please make a left turn onto Park Ave. Head north on Park intersection of Hillside and Park Avenues. School entrance is on Hillside Street.
